At Milestones Preschool we take extra care to make children feel safe, comfortable and loved. We provide children a rich environment to explore and discover. The goal is for our graduates to enter kindergarten as self-confident, effective problem solvers. Our philosophy and play-based curriculum are influenced by Developmentally Appropriate Practices (DAP). We give the children time to ask questions, test theories and explore topics that interest them and solve their own problems. Reading, writing, math, science and social development are explored through play and project-based work. Teachers take much care in planning a curriculum inspired by the children’s interests.

We also believe that emotional development is the core of proper whole development. We believe and stress the importance of emotional intelligence. We give emotional support and validation throughout the day. We use redirection because we believe that every behavior has a meaning. We work hard to provide children with proper tools to work together in a group. We believe behavior is a form of communication our teachers are skilled in decipher what underline meaning is to better support the child. We are here to help children understand the meaning behind their actions and learn more socially acceptable ways to get their needs met and to regulate their emotions.
